Evgeny Lushpin is a Russian landscape painter, fluent in melding fantasy and photo realism, he creates astounding images that capture the play of light in a way that draws you into his paintings. You wish you were wearing a fur coat and sipping on spiced wine or coffee in one of his cafes, the glowing light spilling out onto the side walk. I love how his paintings stir the imagination and I feel transported into his world of quiet muted colour. They seem like the perfect backdrop for a winter movie or the world hidden in a good book. I wouldn’t mind living in his snowy cabins or atop a building with his blue and orange views, how about you?
He also creates marvellous still lifes.
